Walter Gewin
Walter Pettus Gewin (1908-1981) was a federal judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.
Gewin received a recess appointment from President John F. Kennedy on October 5, 1961, to a new seat created by 75 Stat. 80; he was nominated on January 15, 1962, confirmed by the Senate on February 5, 1962, and received his commission on February 9th. He assumed senior status on November 1, 1976, and served in that capacity until his death on May 15, 1981.[1]
