On November 4, 2008, Jeff Merkley won election to the United States Senate. He defeated Gordon H. Smith (R) and David Brownlow (Constitution) in the general election.[1]
2002
On November 5, 2002, Gordon Smith (R) won re-election to the United States Senate. He defeated Bill Bradbury (D), Dan Fitzgerald (L) and Lon Mabon (Constitution) in the general election.[2]
1996
On November 5, 1996, Gordon Smith (R) won election to the United States Senate. He defeated Tom Bruggere (D), Brent Thompson (Reform), Gary Kutcher (Pacific), Paul "Stormy" Mohn (L), Christopher Phelps (Socialist) and Michael L. Hoyes (Natural Law) in the general election.[3]
Class III
