Oklahoma House Bill 2869 (2008)

Oklahoma House Bill 2869 was proposed by Democratic state legislator Mike Shelton in February 2008. It imposes additional restrictions on laws governing the initiative process in Oklahoma.
The new provisions proposed in the law are:
- People who ask other people to sign petitions must be registered voters of the state of Oklahoma before they can legally ask anyone to sign an initiative petition.
- Make it illegal to pay a person based on how many signatures that person was able to collect.
