Yvonne Dorsey (b. August 19, 1952) is a Democratic member of the Louisiana Senate, representing District 14.
Education
Dorsey earned her AA from Baton Rogue Community College. She went on attend Spencer College, Southern University, and Louisiana State University.
Professional experience
Dorsey was a Travel Counselor from 1974 to 1976. She worked as Executive Administrative/Paralegal from 1976 to 1991. She then worked as Executive Director for the Louisiana Department of Labor from 1992 to 1993. She is currently a Consultant.
Political experience
Dorsey served in the Louisiana State House of Representatives from 1993 to 2007. In 2007, she was House Speaker Pro Tempore. She then joined the Louisiana State Senate in 2008. She has served in that position since, representing the 14th district.
