The question on the ballot was, "Shall legislators be allowed to assume other civil offices without receiving any increases in compensation passed during their legislative terms?"

Amendment 69 was a change to Section 13 of Article II of the Washington State Constitution. It was the 69th amendment approved to the (second) Washington State Constitution subsequent to its ratification in October 1889.
