The Washington Civil Service for Sheriff's Employees, Initiative 23, was on the November 4, 1958 general election ballot in Washington, where it was approved.

Sponsors filed signatures on December 5, 1956 to qualify it as an Initiative to the Legislature. When the legislature did not take action on the proposed legislation, as provided by the Washington State Constitution, the measure was placed on the ballot.
