Voter Education Project
From Ballotpedia
The Voter Education Project, or VEP, was established in Oregon in 2001.[1] A National Public Radio reporter on June 2, 2002 described the goal of the organization as "trying to defeat initiatives before they even qualify for the ballot".[2]
Jeannie Berg was its director from 2001-2003, when it was disbanded. Patty Wentz was the organization's communications director.[3]
Labor leader and Oregon political activist Tim Nesbitt has been credited with conceiving of the idea for the Voter Education Project,[4] and is listed as the organization's president on its federal income tax return for 2004.[5]
The organization was listed as a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
