2008

2007

In 2007, voters in Weber, Box Elder and Davis counties voted on local sales tax increases to fund transportation projects. The tax was defeated in Davis County, and approved in Box Elder and Weber counties.

2004

A Salt Lake County initiative in 2004 to re-authorize the zoo, arts and parks program passed with 71% of the vote; this program is funded by a county sales tax of one-tenth of one percent that generates $15 million a year.

A proposal in Tooele City, Utah to increase the sales tax by one-tenth of one percent to fund expansion of existing parks passed with 57% of the vote. The tax will generate about $300,000 a year and boost the sales tax in the city from 6.25% to 6.35%.
