Thomas Hansen (1946-) is a member of the Nebraska Unicameral representing District 42. He was first elected in 2006.
Background
Born November 8, 1946 in North Platte, Nebraska, Sen. Hansen is a cattleman from Lincoln County, Nebraska. Prior to his election, Sen. Hansen was a member of the Lincoln County Cattlemen, and former president of the Nebraska Cattleman's Association.[1] Senator Hansen has a degree in Animal Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His grandfather was also a member of the Nebraska State Legislature.[2] He is currently married to Linda Hansen with two children and is known to be Lutheran.
Education
Thomas Hansen earned his Bachelors degree in animal science from the University of Nebraska in 1970.
Professional Experience
Thomas Hansen worked as as secretary and treasurer for Hansen 77 Ranch Limited Liability Company and previously worked as a rancher.
Political Experience
Thomas Hansen was a member of the Lincoln County Republicans and joined the Nebraska State Legislature as a senator in 2006.
