San Francisco Gross Receipts Tax, June 2009

A San Francisco Gross Receipts Tax may appear on a special June 2, 2009 election ballot in San Francisco.[1]
Supervisor John Avalos sponsored putting the measure on the June ballot.
The measure if enacted would:
- Impose a 1 % tax on businesses with gross receipts in excess of $2 million
- Impose a 1.4% tax on commercial real estate leasing with gross receipts in excess of $2 million
- Impose a .5 % Sales Tax Increase for Emergency Health and Human Services and Public Protection
- Increase the city's 8.5% sales tax to 9% for three years.
