A San Francisco Budget Reform Charter Amendment, Measure A ballot proposal was on the November 3, 2009 ballot in San Francisco, where it was approved.[1]
Measure A will:
- Institute a two-year budgetary cycle
- Require the adoption of a 5-year financial plan.
- Adopt various financial policies
- Set a deadline for the submission of MOUs for all labor unions.
Proposition A was supported by a majority of San Francisco's supervisors and by Gavin Newsom. Newsom said that getting Proposition A passed is his "No. 1 priority."[2]
