Daggett County Attorney Bryan Sidwell quit while in the middle of a vote fraud case. Twenty of the 51 defendants were still waiting to be arraigned when Sidwell removed himself, refusing to give a reason why. It is now up to the Utah Attorney General's office to take it themselves or appoint a special prosecutor.[1]

The case deals with the 2006 election, with the 51 defendants accused of illegally registering in the County while not actually living or having a primary residence there. The issued surfaced when then Sheriff Alan Campbell thought voter rolls near the Wyoming boarder were growing too quickly. Campbell would end up losing the election by just 20 votes.
