Oklahoma State Question 539 (Initiative #309) appeared on the 1979 ballot in Oklahoma. It failed, with 202,380 in favor and 211,768 opposed.

It was an initiated state statute.

The objective of the measure was to put a cap on the state income tax, and eliminate double taxation.

62,194 signatures were required to qualify it for the ballot.
