Text of the proposal
The language that appeared on the ballot:
The proposed law would remove the words "mourning doves" from the definition of "game birds;" remove the sentence from the Ohio Revised Code which states: "The chief shall not establish a season for the hunting of mourning doves that opens prior to the fifteenth day of September of any year;" and add the words "NO PERSON SHALL HUNT OR TAKE A MOURNING DOVE."
