Ohio Industrial Development Bond Election (1974)

The Ohio Industrial Development Bond Election, which appeared on the November 5, 1974 statewide general election ballot in Ohio as Ohio Issue 3 was a measure regarding the purposes for public industrial development bonds.

This ballot measure was referred to the ballot by the Ohio State Legislature.

It passed, with 64.6% of voters in favor.

  • No: 882,778

Text of the proposal

To include the following among the purposes for which public industrial development revenue bonds may be issued and loan guarantee programs undertaken, without obligating or pledging moneys raised by taxation:

1. The preservation of existing jobs;

2. The control of air, water and thermal pollution;

3. The disposal of solid waste; and

4. The construction of electric and gas utility services facilities for pollution control or solid waste disposal.
