Five ballot questions appeared on Ohio's November 4 statewide ballot. The total included three measures put on the ballot by the state legislature, one initiative and one veto referendum.
Key facts
- From 1913, when the first initiated constitutional amendment was voted on in 1913, through 2007, Ohio voters have voted on seventy-five initiatives, approving 19 and defeating 56.
- The one 2008 initiative will bring the total to 76.
- In the years 2000-2008, eleven citizen-initiated measures will have appeared on Ohio ballots (not counting veto referenda). This compares to eight citizen-initiated measures that appeared on the Ohio ballot in the previous decade from 1990-1998.
