Members of the newly created Election Integrity Task Force raided the Las Vegas office of the community organizing group ACORN. The raid stemmed from an investigation by the task force that showed voter registrations submitted by ACORN included either false information or were attempts to register the same person multiple times.[1] Armed with a search warrant, 8 computers and 20 boxes of documents were seized. No one has been arrested.

ACORN Responds
Interim chief organizer of ACORN, Bertha Lewis referred to the raid as "a stunt that serves no useful purpose other than [to] discredit our work registering Nevadans and distracting us from the important work ahead of getting every eligible vote to the polls.[1]
She said they have always worked with election officials to identify questionable registrations - "For the past 10 months, any time ACORN has identified a potentially fraudulent application, we turn that application in to election officials separately and offer to provide election officials with the information they would need to pursue an investigation or prosecution of the individual. Election officials routinely ignored this information and failed to act."
Affidavit
Colin Hayes, criminal investigator for the Secretary of State, compiled the charges in a 19-page affidavit. Among his findings:
- Between March 5 and July 31, 59 inmates worked for ACORN
- Convicted felon Jason Anderson was at one time a supervisor in the voter registration program
- Clark County election officials identified 183 questionable registrations, each with different voters names.[1]
The EITS
The Election Integrity Task Force, led by Secretary of State Ross Miller, was created last July 31. It was the result of a collaboration between Miller, the state attorney general, U.S. attorney, and the FBI with the express purpose of investigating voter registration, fraud, and intimidation. In a statement Miller said, We're going to do everything possible to ensure that Nevada's voter rolls are protected and to ensure that only those who are eligible can cast a ballot.[1]
