Nebraska Amendment 3B (2000)

Nebraska Amendment 3B, also known as a constitutional amendment to identify the powers of initiative and referendum and to remove obsolete language, was on the November 7, 2000 election ballot in Nebraska. It passed, with 69% of voters in favor.

The measure was a legislative referral voted onto the ballot by the Nebraska State Legislature.

Legislative Constitutional Amendment

Specifically defines the powers of initiative (to propose statutes or constitutional amendments) and referendum (to approve or reject such proposals), and will remove some obsolete language pertaining to the former two-house Legislature. (LR 18 CA)
