A Mountains Community Hospital parcel tax, Measure K ballot measure was on the May 19, 2009 ballot in San Bernardino County for voters in the Mountains Community Hospital District, where it was approved.

  • Yes: 2,474 (68.72%) Approved
  • No: 1,126 (31.28%)

The board of the hospital is asking for an extension of the hospital district's existing parcel taxes, which are:

  • $80 per home, regardless of valuation.
  • $40 for a vacant lot.
  • $200 for a business.

The parcel tax was first approved by voters in the hospital district in 1989. Every four years, a majority of voters must approve continuation of the tax.

The tax raises about two million dollars a year for the hospital.[1]
