Mike Rose (b. October 13, 1947) has been a Republican member of the South Carolina Senate from 1989 to 1998 and since 2008, representing the 38th district.

Education

Rose earned his BS from the United States Air Force Academy in 1969. He went on to receive his JD from the New York University School of Law in 1974. He then earned his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1981.

Professional experience

Rose served as a Regular Officer in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1974. He is currently a Major in the United States Air Force Reserve. He is currently also an attorney and businessman.

Political experience

Rose was Chair of the Republican Party Platform Committee in 1989. He was then Chair of the Dorchester County Legislative Delegation from 1989 to 1990. He was also Vice-Chair of the Republican Forum in the South Carolina Senate from 1989 to 1992. Rose was on the American Legislative Exchange Council from 1990 to 1992. He was also the District Chair of the National Federation of Republican Men from 1991 to 1992. He served in the South Carolina State Senate from 1989 to 1998. He was re-elected to the senate in 2008 and has served in that position since. He represents the 38th district.
