The Maine Seat Belt Referendum was on the November 7, 1995 ballot in Maine, as Question 8. It was a state statute that was legislatively-referred to the ballot by the Maine State Legislature and it was approved.

• Yes: 208,164 (50.4%)
• No: 204,928 (49.6%)

The ballot language said:

"Do You Favor Requiring All Persons to Use Safety Belts in Motor Vehicles?"
