Louisiana Act 485 (2007) was on the October 20, 2007 statewide ballot in Louisiana as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment to the Louisiana Constitution.

The act "authorizes the legislature to supplement the uniform pay plans for sworn, commissioned law enforcement officers employed by a bona fide police agency of the state or its political subdivisions and for fire protection officers employed by a port authority from any available funds of the state, department, agency or the political subdivision."[1]

The amendment applies to full-time employees, only.

The measure was approved with 58% of the vote.[2]

Constitutional Amendment 2 would permit the state to expand salary supplements for law enforcement officers and firefighters in the Port of New Orleans.
