A Lakeport Fireworks Initiative, Measure C was on the November 3, 2009 ballot in Lake County for voters in the City of Lakeport, where it was approved.

Before Measure C passed, a Lakeport city ordinance said that only state-approved fireworks can be sold or used within city limits. Now that Measure C has been approved, a broader range of fireworks can be sold in the city.

  • Yes: 514 (59.3%) Approved
  • No: 353 (40.7%)

The groups that wanted Measure c to pass were primarily groups that raised money for their charitable causes through the sale of fireworks.[1]

Lakeport is the county seat of Lake County. At the time of the 2000 census, its population was approaching 5,000.
