Robert Haar (1943-) is a member of the Nebraska Unicameral representing District 21. He was first elected in 2008.

Background

Born in Freeman, South Dakota, Senator Haar is a businessman and computer programmer from Lincoln Nebraska. He has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Prior to his election to the Nebraska Legislature, he was a member of the Lincoln City Council, and the Lincoln/Lancaster County Board of Health. [1] He is currently married to his wife, Chris Haar.

Education

Ken Haar earned his Bachelors degree from the Universtiy of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1965 and his MS in Educational Administration in 1973.

Professional Experience

Ken Haar has professional experience as a computer technology consultant and systems analyst for the US Life/National Arbor Day Foundation, TAG, and TMI. Haar has also worked for schools in Omaha and Lincoln Nebraska, as well as Bronxvill, New York, teaching the subjects of chemistry, math, and physics. He was an inventor for Bearhooks Wilderness Food Hangers and is currently the founder and CEO of Compliance at a Glance.

Political Experience

Ken Haar joined the Lincoln City Council in 1989 and remained there for eight years. In 2008, he became a senator of the Nebraska State Legislature.

Organizations

Ken Haar is involved with three organizations, the Lancaster County Board of Health, Lincoln Mediation Center, and the Nebraska Sierra Club.
