K-12 School Funding and Best Practices Study Committee, Arizona Legislature

The K-12 School Funding and Best Practices Study Committee is a standing committee of the Arizona Legislature.

Function

  • (1) review and make recommendations on school district and charter school maintenance and operations funding, including recommendations on formula based funding that impact both local and state funds;
  • (2) review and make recommendations on school district and charter school capital funding, including recommendations on formula based funding that impact both local and state funds; and
  • (3) review and make recommendations on best practices in school programs and school finance.

The Committee shall submit an initial report on or before December 1, 2007 and a final report on or before December 1, 2008 that summarizes the Committee's findings and recommendations to the Governor, the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. A copy of the report shall be delivered to the Secretary of State and the Director of the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records.
