Pennacchio graduated with a B.S. in Biology from Brooklyn College and also graduated with a D.D.S from New York University College of Dentistry.[2]
In addition to being a senator, Pennacchio is a Dentist at the Mount Arlington Family and Cosmetic Dental Associates. Prior to his election to the state senate, Pennacchio was also a member of the New Jersey Assembly from 2001 to 2007 where he also served as the Appropriations officer from 2004 to the end of his term in the assembly.[3]

Pennacchio won re-election to the District 26 State Senate seat. He was unopposed for the June 7 Republican primary election. Pennacchio defeated Wasim Khan (D) in the general election which took place on November 8, 2011. [5]
