John Warner (b. June 28, 1952) is a Democratic member of the North Dakota Senate, representing District 4.

Education

Warner earned his BS from North Dakota State University in 1974. He later received his BS from Minot State University in 1982.

Professional experience

Warner was a Research Technician studying insect genetics for the United States Department of Agriculture Midlands Regional Research Laboratory from 1973 to 1976. He then worked as a Forensic Analyst for North Dakota State Toxicology Lab in Fargo, from 1976 to 1980. He has worked as a self-employed Farmer since 1980.

Political experience

Warner was an employee for the 1993 Legislative Session. He was a Township Officer from 1982 to 1996. He was then a secretary for the 4th District Democrat-NPL Party from 1996 to 2002. He served in the North Dakota State House of Representatives from 1996 to 2004. He has been Chair of the 4th District Democrat-NPL Party from 2002 to the present. He joined the North Dakota State Senate in 2004 and has served in that position since. He represents the 4th district.
