Wilson received a B.S. in Mathematics from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. Previously, Wilson served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Wilson has also worked for the Oklahoma Crime Commission in Oklahoma City. He previously held office in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 2000 to 2004.
In addition to serving as senator, Wilson owns his own business in the computer industry.
