Jim Pomeroy (b. December 16, 1936) is a Democratic member of the North Dakota Senate, representing District 27.
Education
Pomeroy earned his BS in Divinity from North Dakota State University in 1958. He then received his MDiv from Drew Theological School at Drew University in 1961. He went on to earn his DMin from McCormick Theological School in 1980.
Professional experience
Pomeroy was on the staff at the Dakotas Area Program for United Methodist Church from 1968 to 1975. He then worked as District Superintendent for the Central District of the United Methodist Church from 1979 to 1984. He was also Senior Pastor for United Methodist Church from 1959 to 2002.
Political experience
Pomeroy joined the North Dakota State Senate in 2007. He has served in that position since, representing the 27th district.

Pomeroy and his wife Mavis have one child.
