Jim Arnold is a Democratic member of the Indiana Senate, representing District 8.

Education

Arnold earned his BA in Political Science/History from Valparaiso University. He went on to receive his Paralegal Certificate from Indiana University.

Professional experience

Arnold has served in the United States Army Reserves. He has also been an Air Traffic Controller for the United States Air Force. He has worked as Chief Investigator/Paralegal for the LaPorte County Prosecuting Attorneys Office. From 1975 to 2007 he worked for LaPorte County Sheriff's Office. He was Sheriff of LaPorte County from 1999 to 2007.

Political experience

Arnold was appointed to the Indiana State Senate in March of 2007. He has served in that position since, representing the 8th district.

Arnold and his wife, Lauren, have seven children.
