Jeffrey Atwater (b. April 8, 1958) is a Republican member of the Florida Senate, representing District 25.
Education
Atwater earned his BA in Finance from the University of Florida in 1981. He went on to receive his MBA from the University of Florida in 2002.
Professional experience
Atwater was Chair/President/CEO of the Barnett Bank of Treasure Coast from 1994 to 1996. He then worked as Chair/President/CEO of the Barnett Bank of Broward County from 1996 to 1998.
Political experience
Atwater was Vice Mayor of the Village of North Palm Beach. He served in the Florida State House of Representatives from 2000 to 2002. He joined the Florida State Senate in 2003 and has served in that position since. He has been Senate President since 2008, representing the 25th district.
Personal life
Atwater and his wife, Carol Funkhouser, have four children.
