The Jefferson Exceed Revenue Limits referendum is a school bond issue on the November 4, 2008 ballot in the School District of Jefferson, Wisconsin. The purpose of the referendum is to exceed the state-set revenue cap by $300,000 per year, with the funds going to the school budget. The annual additional funds would be used for general maintenance projects.

The Jefferson School District also has a $39,700,000 referenda on the ballot to build a swimming pool, and make various other improvements to the high school. See Jefferson Swimming Pool and Improvements Referendum (2008). Both measures were defeated.

Actual Wording

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SCHOOL DISTRICT BUDGET TO EXCEED REVENUE LIMIT FOR NON-RECURRING PURPOSES BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of the School District of Jefferson, Jefferson County, Wisconsin, that the revenues included in the School District budget beginning with the 2009-2010 school year and ending with the 2013-2014 school year be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $300,000 a year, for non-recurring purposes consisting of maintenance projects.
