Hundreds of homeless people were driven to voter polls on the last day of same-day voter registration in Ohio. According to an article in the New York Post people were picked up from homeless shelters, soup kitchens and drug-rehab centers by a group supporting Barack Obama, Vote Today Ohio.[1]
One man, William Woods, 59, at the soup kitchen of the Bishop Cosgrove Center. "I never voted before," Woods said, because of a felony conviction that previously barred him from the polls. "Without this service, I would have had no way to get here."[1]
