Half Moon Bay Measure Q (June 2008)
From Ballotpedia
Half Moon Bay Measure Q (June 2008) is a ballot measure designed to increase Half Moon Bay's transient occupancy tax from 10 to 12 percent.
The money raised by the tax hike is intended to pay for library services, programs and facilities for youths and seniors, police services, parks and recreation, and care of city streets.
The measure appeared on the June 3, 2008 ballot in San Mateo County, California, where it was approved.
Half Moon Bay owes $41.6 million in the Beachwood land-use judgment, which is one reason it is looking at alternative means to pay for recreation and library services.
