Glenn Hegar has been a Republican member of the Texas Senate since 2007.
Hegar graduated with a B.A. in political science and history from Texas A&M University and also graduated with an M.A. in international economic relations from St. Mary's University in 1997. He later obtained a J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law and subsequently graduated with a Masters of Law in Agricultural Law from the University of Arkansas.
In addition to being a senator, Hegar is a farmer and prior to his election to the state senate, Hegar was a representative in the Texas House of Representatives from 2002 to 2006.[1]
