North Dakota Secretary of State Al Jaeger said the applications will be excepted without the required information, reasoning it is more important to make sure everyone gets the chance to vote in the upcoming election.[1]
Michael Bommarito of the North Dakota Republican Party commented, "The primary point is to assist the voter in being able to vote and that is the attitude that the Secretary of State office and the county auditors are taking not to disenfranchise any of the voters who want to participate in the process."[1]
