Florida Casino Authorization Amendment (1986)

Florida Measure 3 (1986) was an initiated constitutional amendment on the November 4, 1986 ballot in Florida to allow casino gambling. It was defeated.
The ballot description said, "An amendment authorizing casino gambling in hotels of 500 rooms or more in counties where electors of a county have by initiative referendum approved casino gambling and the geographic boundaries for such casino gambling in their county; the legislature to enact such laws necessary to assure reasonable limitation, licensing, regulation and taxation of such casino gambling."
Measure 3 was the fourth citizen-initiated proposed amendment to appear on a Florida statewide ballot.
