Edward Meyer (b. April 15, 1935) is a Democratic member of the Connecticut Senate, representing District 12.
Education
Meyer earned his BA from Yale University in 1957. He went on to receive his Tripos from Cambridge University in 1958. He then earned his JD from Yale Law University in 1961.
Professional experience
Meyer was an Associate for Davis Polk and Wardwell from 1961 to 1964. He then worked as an Assistant United States Prosecutor for the United States Department of Justice from 1964 to 1968. He also worked as Partner for Spengler Carlson from 1968 to 1988. From 1988 to 2004 he was Partner for Meyer, Taub, and Wild.
Political experience
Meyer was an Assemblyman in the New York State Assembly from 1971 to 1975. He was on the New York State Board of Regents from 1977 to 2000. In 2000 he was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention. He has been a member of the Guilford Democratic Committee since 2001. He joined the Connecticut State Senate in 2005 and has served in that position since. He is currently Senate Assistant Majority Leader, representing the 12th district.

Meyer and his wife, Patty Ann, have six children.
