Edward Kasemeyer has been a Democratic member of the Maryland Senate since 1986.
Kasemeyer earned his Bachelors Degree at Western Maryland College in 1967.
In 2007 Kasemeyer became the Majority Leader of the Maryland State Senate.[1]

Signature requirements reform
In April 2009, Kasemeyer sponsored legislation to loosen signature requirements to use a standard of "reasonable certainty" when evaluating petition signatures.
