Denmark Exceed Revenue Limits (2008)

The Denmark Exceed Revenue Limits referendum is a school bond issue on the November 4, 2008 ballot in the School District of Denmark, Wisconsin. The purpose of the referendum is to exceed the state-set revenue cap by $2.4 million over three years with the funds going to the school budget. The additional funds would be used for basic educational costs.
Superintendent Tony Klaubauf explains the gradual increase in the funds requested as "trying to decrease the impact that first year, knowing we didn't need as much". [1]

2010-2011: $800,000
2011-2012: $900,000

Actual Wording
Be it resolved by the School Board of the School District of Denmark, Brown, Manitowoc and Kewaunee Counties, Wisconsin that the revenues included in the School District budget be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $700,000 for the 2009-2010 school year; by $800,000 for the 2010-2011 school year; and by $900,000 for the 2011-2012 school year for non-recurring purposes to fund educational programming for students."

Yearly Cost
The owner of a $150,000 property would expect to pay an additional $151.50 in property taxes per year for three years. [2]
