David Boswell (b. November 20, 1949) has been a Democratic member of the Kentucky Senate since 1990. He represents the 8th district.
Education
Boswell received his diploma from Owensboro Catholic High School in 1968. He went on to attend Brescia University and Western Kentucky University in 1972 and 1973, respectively.
Professional experience
Boswell has worked as a Sales Executive for Energy Resources Development. He was a Legislative Agent from 1987 to 1988. He worked as Legislative Liaison for the Office of Governor Wallace G. Wilkinson from 1989 to 1990. He then worked in Energy Development for Addwest Mining Company from 1991 to 1996. He has been a Sales/Marketing Director for Executive Inn-Rivermont Hotel & Convention Center since 1996.
Political experience
Boswell served in the Kentucky State House of Representatives from 1978 to 1983. He then was Commissioner of Agriculture for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture from 1984 to 1988. He has been a Board Member for the Green River Area Development District from 1978 to 1983 and again from 1990 to the present. He joined the Kentucky State Senate in 1990. He has served in that position since, representing the 8th district. He was also a candidate for the United States House of Representatives, District 2, in 2008.
