Christopher Smith (b. March 15, 1970) is a Democratic member of the Florida Senate, representing District 29.
Education
Smith earned his BS in Political Science from Johnson C. Smith University in 1992. He went on to receive his JD from Florida State University College of Law in 1995.
Professional experience
Smith is an attorney for Johnson, Anselmo, Murdoch, Burke and George, Practicing Attorneys.
Political experience
Smith was on the Broward County Democratic Party Executive Committee. He served in the Florida State House of Representatives from 1998 to 2008. From 2004 to 2008 he was House Minority Leader. He then joined the Florida State Senate in 2008. He has served in that position since, representing the 29th district.
