In order to pass, at least 55% of those voting in the election had to vote "yes".
The ballot question asked voters to approve a $6.9 million bond.
This measure was defeated with 44% of the vote.
Comparison
Altogether, there were 95 school bond measures on the November 4 ballot across California. Of the 95, just eight were defeated. Measure E is one of the eight that was defeated.
