Bernice Mathews (b. November 12, 1933) is a Democratic member of the Nevada Senate, representing the Washoe 1 District.
Education
Mathews earned her BSN from the University of Nevada, Reno. She went on to receive her MEd in Administration of Higher Education from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Professional experience
Mathews is currently a small business owner. She is also Director of Health Science-Nursing (Emeritus).
Political experience
Mathews is a former City Councilwoman for Reno City Council. She joined the Nevada State Senate in 1994. She has served in that position since, representing the Washoe 1 District.
