Ballotpedia is looking for eight summer interns for the summer of 2010.

Internships are open to current undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates.

Interns will work in our office in Madison, Wisconsin and will receive a weekly stipend of $250.00.

Dates

Internships will begin on Monday, June 7 and conclude on Friday, August 13. This is a 10-week period and interns must be available to work at least 8 of the 10 weeks, including the first two weeks.

Nature of work

Interns will be building non-partisan, political almanac-style online profiles of state legislators and candidates for state legislature.

Interns will learn about online research, writing and social media, and they will also become very familiar with state legislative elections, state legislators and state legislatures.

Work environment

Wisconsin State Capitol in downtown Madison

As an intern, you'll work in the offices of the Lucy Burns Institute at 301 S. Bedford Street in Madison, Wisconsin. You'll be part of a team that includes a number of on-site and remote staff, including our Director of Training, and other staff members.

Madison

Ballotpedia's office is located within very easy walking distance of several of Madison’s student housing areas. Madison is a large university town and it has many students with year-long apartment leases looking for summer sublets.

Madison is a beautiful city to experience in the summer. It has excellent biking, rollerblading and walking paths, as well as many bus routes. Two of Madison’s popular bike paths have sections that are quite close to the Ballotpedia office.

Your initial e-mail query must be received no later than Friday, April 30 and you must then complete your application by Friday, May 7.
