Goal: Complete pages for the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and Secretary of State for each state in the union. This means a generic page for the position, such as Illinois Governor, and for the current office holder, like Pat Quinn.

Project stages

  • Stage 1 - Create stubs for each state official (i.e. governor, lt. governor, secretary of state and attorney general). Approved (DONE!)
  • Stage 2 - Add links to current officeholder and create stub for officeholder.
  • Add links to newly created pages in any old related pages.
  • Add photo of the officeholder and links to predecessor, successor
  • Add content exclusive to Ballotpedia to articles.

Style notes

  • The primary page should be at "NAMEOFSTATE Governor", not "Governor of NAMEOFSTATE". Create a redirect page at the latter. If a page already exists with the latter, copy the page to the current nomenclature and add a redirect.
  • Titles of the offices should be capitalized in the title of the pages.
  • In the articles, unless you're talking about a specific person (e.g. Lieutenant Governor Joe the Plumber), the title of the office should be lowercase (e.g. lieutenant governor)
  • Unless you have several sections other than the ones listed below, add NOTOC (with __ on both sides) to your page to remove the table of contents. It's not necessary if the primary sections aren't important content.
