Article XXII of the Utah Constitution is entitled Miscellaneous and consists of two sections.
Section 1
| Text of Section 1:
Homestead Exemption The Legislature shall provide by law, for the selection by each head of a family, and exemption of a homestead, which may consist of one or more parcels of lands, together with the appurtenances and improvements thereon on the value of at least fifteen hundred dollars from sale on execution. |
Section 2
| Text of Section 2:
Property Rights of Married Women Real and personal estate of every female, acquired before marriage, and all property to which she may afterwards become entitled by purchase, gift, grant, inheritance or devise, shall be and remain the estate and property of such female, and shall not be liable for the debts, obligations or engagements of her husband, and may be conveyed, devised or bequeathed by her as if she were unmarried. |
